Each issue identifies five developments most likely to influence Utah’s innovation economy. Coverage may include startups, venture capital, university research, commercialization, workforce, infrastructure, technology policy and federal decisions affecting Utah.
Stories are selected based on statewide consequence, novelty, relevance to the broader innovation economy and the strength of available evidence. Organizational affiliation does not determine inclusion.
Independence
The Utah Signal independently identifies the developments most likely to shape Utah’s innovation economy. Coverage is selected based on significance, regardless of the company, institution, industry or source involved.
Verification
Every featured development links to supporting material. Primary sources are preferred. Significant numbers, dates and claims are checked against additional reporting when appropriate. Analysis is distinguished from reported fact through the “Why it matters” and “What to watch” sections.
Corrections
Material errors are corrected promptly. Substantive corrections will be noted in the relevant issue. Readers may flag a correction through Jefferson Moss’s LinkedIn profile.
Conflicts and affiliations
Jefferson Moss holds leadership roles in Utah economic development and innovation organizations. Those organizations receive neither automatic inclusion nor preferential treatment.
